James’s reference to prayer provide us with important elements to consider. He speaks both of the righteous man and of the effectual prayer. He helps us to understand that both who the person that is praying and the intensity of their prayer matters. When both criteria are present there is high expectation of their prayers making a difference.
It has been said, if the prayer doesn’t move you why would it move God. As a righteous man, let there be intensity in your prayers. As you pray, you will have the assurance that your prayer will make a difference.
